Oils of Ancient Scripture

The Oils of the Ancient Scripture kit contains 10 oils made up of the most significant resin, plants, and materials from the Bible. They may be trendy now, but they are not new, oils are mentioned over 200 times in the Bible. Essential oils are just as useful, if not more so, for us now as they were back then. These oils were used for anointing and holy incense before, during and after the time of Christ. The 10 oils included in the kit are:

  • Aloes – Also known as Sandalwood. It has a rich, sweet, woody aroma. Used as incense in religious ceremonies.
  • Cassia – Burned daily in the temple. Known for its cleansing properties.
  • Cedarwood – Warm, balsamic, woody aroma. Helps with clearing the mind and great for its calming properties.
  • Cypress – A fresh, evergreen aroma. When inhaled, makes one feel refreshed, with a sense of security and stability.
  • Frankincense – One of my most favorite smells. Used for visualizing and improving a spiritual connection. Second most named oil in the Bible.
  • Hyssop – Woody but slightly sweet aroma. Used for purification.
  • Myrrh – Mentioned 156 times in the Bible. Has a rich, smoky aroma. Used for meditation and supporting healthy skin.
  • Myrtle – Similar to Eucalypts. Soothing when inhaled.
  • Onycha – Traditionally used for holy incense. Gives off a similar odor of Vanilla. Helps heal wounds.
  • Rose of Sharon – Calming and uplifting aroma. Great for meditation and immune system support.

A great way to use all these oils in everyday life is diffusing them. It will help you purify the air and help keep a low stress environment. What a wonderful way for loved ones to also benefit from the oils!

Brain Food

In pursuit to connect with my true nature, I’ve discovered 3 simple ways to create a more calm and healthy lifestyle even in the midst of chaos. These discoveries aren’t new but ancient ones. I believe that’s why they are as effective today as they were thousands of years ago.

Our brain becomes so overly stimulated from this Age of Information we live in and can be a real challenge. It’s most important to reconnect with the body. Instead of being so “thought” focused, try going within to place attention on the physical body and begin to develop your own holistic practice.

Holistic health is the overall state of wellness on all levels of your being: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. It encompasses the health of your entire being. It also extends to everyone and everything that affects you, including resources, the environment, and your relationships.

Give your brain a break and try something new. The practices below are food for the brain and for your soul. As you read on, it’s my intention at least one practice might speak to you and bring more peace into your life. Stay open to the possibilities…

Here we go:

1. Deep breathing is a practice I use daily and love teaching to others. You always have your breathe with you so this practice can be done anywhere and anytime. Breathe in through your nose slowly and deeply into the bottom of your belly. Then relax your jaw exhaling, again, very slowly while feeling your shoulders drop and your forehead and eyes soften. Repeat as many times as needed to begin feeling sensations in your body. This is how you’ll connect to the deepest part of yourself, the part that is all-knowing. Use this technique in any situation where you must stay calm (i.e. accident, trauma, emotional upset, anger, rage). Also, use it when feeling stressed, ill, or tired.

2. Meditation is a practice I’ve struggled with for years. Living the busy life, I haven’t been successful and feeling very discouraged. I know how important meditation is for the heart and soul. Have you had these feelings? I’m very excited to share this new practice with you that’s changing my life. It’s called Holocync developed by Bill Harris of CenterPointe. One of my dear clients who is an avid meditator starting using it over a year ago and has not missed a day since! And for me, a wanna-be meditator, I haven’t missed a day in over 2 and ½ months. The point is, this program can work for anyone. It’s definitely food for the brain. Ask me how I’m managing it and I’m happy to share. You can listen to a free sound clip, just click here.

3. Yoga most likely began around the sixth and fifth centuries B.C. and originally included religion, philosophy, and practices. You may know it best here in the West as a physical exercise practice even though it’s much more. The word Yoga in Sanskrit means to add, to join, to unite or to attach. I found this meaning so relevant I had to share it here. To bring your body, mind and spirit into harmonious balance, there are practices to become whole! I found a great studio here in my town, Pacifica Beach Yoga, with my favorite instructor Jami Bailey, teaching Yin Yoga. I’m now a believer in the value of a Yoga practice. It may take some time for you to find the right fit as it did for me and I highly recommend taking the time. You will reap the wonderful benefits after the first class when it’s the one for you.

To summarize, #1 Deep breathing can be used as a stand-alone and actually plays a huge part in #2 & #3 as well. So breathe work is a big bang for your buck J since I’ve been using Essential Oils for almost 20 years, I’ll mention how important the oils are in maintaining a healthy non-toxic lifestyle. Just like deep breathing, the oils enhance and support your 9 body systems. There are two Essential Oil Blends I use that are particularly helpful to enhance healthy brain function, have a calming effect and help with focus. They are Clarity and Brain Power.

How do you use oils? Put a few drops into your left palm and rub your palms together. Now inhale the oil from your palms, breathing deep and slow just as you did in the first exercise above. Frankincense oil can also be used to relax in prayer and meditation.

I want to hear back from you to find out if any of these suggestions might be of help.

Simple Summer Trip Tips

For people on the go planning summer activities, here are 3 smart ways to use essential oils to make your summer days more enjoyable. You’ll find them easy to pack and carry in a pocket or fanny pack!

If you’re not familiar, “Essential Oils are the most powerful form of plant based medicine,” says Dr. Axe.

What you have in a small bottle of oil is the complete natural active ingredient. No chemical fillers. Be aware that not all oils on the market are created equal. It’s important to know the source where the oils come from for the highest purity. Always ask questions.

TOO MUCH FUN IN THE SUN – Grab your little bottle of lavender oil and put several drops in your palm. Then, rub it right onto the affected skin area for comfort and to feel totally refreshed.

SNIFFLES, COUGHING, ITCHY EYES – On windy days outside, you may react to the dust and pollen blowing around. Try a drop of peppermint oil on the base of your neck and breathe in the oil by rubbing some onto your palms. Also, put a few drops in your water bottle when overheated or in need of some quick energy.

BEES AND BUGS – “Purification” is a blend of essential oils with citronella that works famously to keep little pests far away from you. Just apply it to your body on any exposed skin like you would any bug repellant. The difference is this oil application is good for your skin and not toxic like the commercial brands. It’s a win, win!

You’ve got it covered right here. Get revved up and ready to roll with these oils above and be sure to let me know how they work for you!

Working Moms, Are You Struggling?

Staying at home with your children can become a huge sacrifice when compared with the income you bring in when you are out in the workplace.

After you have a family, the dilemma becomes, “I want to be at home to take care of my kids, but how can I do it financially?” In your heart do you want to be a 100% work-at-home mom, or know someone who does? There is an option!

The cost of living in San Francisco is now #3 in the nation, with an index of 52.9% above the national average, according to the San Jose Mercury News (August 11, 2016). This means it will take at least 2 incomes to make ends meet in this area.

So, you go and get a job with decent pay. But factor in the cost of childcare, gas prices, business attire, and your time sitting in traffic to and from the office. Now how much are you really making after taxes? This is the reality of life today in many places in America.

Would you be interested if I could share with you a great way to generate extra income while taking care of your little ones? You can actually do both! Think hard about what is most important for you and your family. Your kids grow up quickly. Don’t miss another amazing experience by sacrificing your precious family time.

Learn how other moms in my group are doing it. There is a new business plan and system already in place for you to plug into. Here is a Questionnaire for you to fill out and give back to me:

  • Are you inspired to be your own boss and create the life you want?
  • What are your key reasons for wanting to start a business?
  • How many hours each week would you like to devote to your business?
  • Are you willing to commit to a mentoring program for your success in a work-at-home business?
  • What are your goals, dreams and desires in life if there were no limitations?
  • What is your vision of success?
  • How much income would you like to generate per month?

There are so many benefits to being your own boss. You’ll save money and time without daycare and daily commute costs. Fire your boss and get rid of the office politics and choose who you want to work with. Best of all, you have more time with your family and flexibility with your own personal time and space.

Are you thinking, “What could I do to make added income that would allow me to work from home?” There has never been a better time in history to work within the Natural Health Industry than today! With a new business paradigm and social marketing, there is a popular and effective way for stay-at-home Moms to start their own work-from-home business for a very small start up cost.
Does all this seem too good to be true? Of course, starting your own business will require dedicated work hours on your part to build it as any new business does. However, you will choose what hours and days to work around taking care of your kids and your family schedule. When you decide to become an at-home business owner, you’ll create more balance and peace of mind in your life. A social marketing business is also a great way to provide financial security for you and your family for life while you have fun doing it.

If this sounds good, I invite you to contact me now for more information. Join my Team and I’ll be with you every step of the way. Together we will be a part of the Natural Health Care Revolution sharing and educating ourselves and our community. It’s such an important cause, for what do we have in life without our Health?

Help for Seniors to Pay for Long Term Health Care

I first learned of this legislation in 2013 from a dear friend who is in the Long Term Care business. It was so compelling, my husband and I bought our policies that year. Now I would like to share this valuable information with you:

As the clock struck midnight 2012, almost 4 million Baby Boomers will have turned 65. I wonder how many of these folks have invested in Long Term Care Insurance Policies? Personally, I haven’t yet!

Many senior citizens are struggling to pay up to $6,000.00 per month for Assisted Living or Home Health Care. In addition, many have Life Insurance premiums costing an additional 5 to 6 thousand dollars annually. When faced with having to choose to pay one or the other, paying the cost of Long Term Care is not an option. It has to be done. So many people let their valuable life insurance policies, sometimes worth in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, lapse and eventually receive nothing, or next to nothing. This is a problem throughout our nation.

In response, in November of 2010, the National Council of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL) unanimously passed the Life Insurance Consumer Disclosure Model Act Law. This law requires an Insurance Company to notify the Consumer that their Life Insurance Policy can now be converted into payments for Long Term Care. This is the first time in U.S. history that a law has been passed to require insurance agents to explain the fact that Life insurance policies may be converted into a vehicle to cover Long Term Care.

Now we have an alternative to:

  1. Lapsing life insurance policies and getting nothing
  2. Selling the family home to cover Long Term Care costs
  3. Children paying the care costs for parents
  4. Spending life savings to fund Long Term Care

To give a bit of background, this law passed in 2011 after Congressman Robert Damron, Democrat, KY, worked to move this forward for 6 years.

Congressman Damron, President of NCOIL, held a panel discussion to get the word out about this wonderful new consumer benefit at the Senior Market Advisor EXPO last August 25th in Las Vegas. A local Long Term Care Consultant of 30 years, David Kitaen CLTC, of Marin County, was asked to be on the panel as he was the first LTC Broker in the US to actually facilitate the Life Insurance Policy Conversion for one of his clients, a senior, living in Napa, CA.

Chris Orestis, a prominent figure in National Long Term Care Legislation, and Jayne Sallerson, of Emeritus Senior Living, one of the largest Long Term Care providers in the US, were also on the panel which discussed how this type of insurance conversion can help the growing group facing increasing costs for Senior Care and Housing.

The important conditions to make the Conversion are:

  1. Must be 65 years or older
  2. Must be receiving care at home or in a facility
  3. Must have an “in force” Life Insurance Policy, not lapsed
  4. Anywhere in US

When converted, the money is paid directly to the Health Care Provider.

To get started, contact a professional in the insurance industry to determine if you meet the requirements to qualify.

I’m excited to spread the word and I hope you’ll pass along this information as well. The public “needs to know”! If you have any questions about this exciting development, contact me.
